چکیده

We present a derivation of the medium dependent wave function renormalization for a spinor eld in presence of a thermal bath. We show that, as already pointed out in literature, projector operators are not multiplicatively renormalized and the e ect involves a non trivial spinor dependence, which disappears in the zero temperature covariant limit. The results, which di er from what already found in literature, are then applied to the decay of a massive scalar boson into two fermions and to the {decay and crossed related processes relevant for primordial nucleosynthesis.

Spin-wave theory for dimerized ferromagnetic chains

We describe a Peierls dimerization which occurs in ferromagnetic spin chains at finite temperature, within the modified spin-wave theory. Usual spin-wave theory is modified by introducing a Lagrange multiplier which enforces a nonmagnetic state at finite temperature. It is shown that this method gives results in excellent agreement with the density–matrix renormalization group applied to transf...

Analytical Analysis of The Dual-phase-lag Heat Transfer Equation in a Finite Slab with Periodic Surface Heat Flux (RESEARCH NOTE)

This work uses the dual-phase-lag (DPL) model of heat conduction to demonstrate the effect of temperature gradient relaxation time on the result of non-Fourier hyperbolic conduction in a finite slab subjected to a periodic thermal disturbance. DPL model combines the wave features of hyperbolic conduction with a diffusion-like feature of the evidence not captured by the hyperbolic case. For the ...

A NUMERICAL RENORMALIZATION GROUP APPROACH FOR AN ELECTRON-PHONON INTERACTION

A finite chain calculation in terms of Hubbard X-operators is explored by setting up a vibronic Harniltonian. The model conveniently transformed into a form so that in the case of strong coupling a numerical renormalization group approach is applicable. To test the technique, a one particle Green function is calculated for the model Harniltonian

Density matrix renormalization group and wave function factorization for nuclei

We employ the density matrix renormalization group (DMRG) and the wave function factorization method for the numerical solution of large scale nuclear structure problems. The DMRG exhibits an improved convergence for problems with realistic interactions due to the implementation of the finite algorithm. The wave function factorization of fpg-shell nuclei yields rapidly converging approximations...
